Smoke sauna

Røgsauna DA, suitsusaun ET

Smoke sauna is a sauna without a chimney that can be found all over Northern and Central Europe in Finland, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Sweden. The smoke sauna’s tradition is thousands of years old. Smoke fills the hotroom from a large wood burning stove. Once the desired temperature is reached the burning ashes are taken away and the smoke is ventilated out through the door and windows. The wood turns black over time, which preserves it. The smoke is also known to keep the sauna hygienic. The smoke sauna offers an authentic and rich experience, which is usually the sauna of choice. Though it that takes more time to prepare.
