A leafy, fragrant bundle of tree branches (commonly birch or oak) used for whisking and massaging in the typical northern European sweat bath. It is also a form of aromatherapy as the leaves emit a nice ans natural smell. It also releases phytoncides that prevent the growth and development of pathogens. The biological active substances released by a birch leaves improve metabolism relax muscles and prevent premature ageing of the skin.
